The Other Side of the Door

A Fall Feasts Vision for 5778/2018 and beyond…

I stood watching a door that was opening wide. It has been slowly and steadily opening for awhile. But most of the body of Christ has not been aware of this remarkable opening, but they are aware of the great changes taking place in the earth since 2010. That is what Holy Spirit spoke to me. Further He said to my heart: Light has always streamed through the door, but you were not yet in the days of its opening. Child, you were not yet ready for the New Beginning on the other side of the door!

As I watched the scene unfold before me and saw the door fully opened, where I stood became darker and darker in comparison to the brilliant light streaming through the door. As my eyes adjusted to the contrast, I saw a broad green expanse on the other side of the door. There was a beautiful azure sky with puffy clouds gently floating on a lovely breeze, and a very special warmth radiated from the sun. I believe I stepped closer and closer to the door as I could more and more. I saw an EXPANSIVE field of green, dotted with flowers, many small yellow flowers.

As I observed this lovely and calming pastoral scene, I was picked up from the entrance of the door and set down in the middle of the field. I am dressed all in white in this scene, a flowing fabric that the breeze moves. It is a shorter, mid-calf garment and I am barefoot. When I am set down in the field, I take off running like a child with my hair flying. The open door is behind me. I am in an endless wide and deep green retreat.  I twirl in freedom and yes, my smile and sense of JOY is huge. I run and twirl and jump.

Then I see in the distance a narrow sandy brown path and hills. I stop and stare at them. The hills are green and there are flowers on them as well. The sun is low in the sky and it is starting to outline the hills with light and shadow. On the hills stands a large cutout white sign that reads 2018.

I headed down the path toward the rolling hills picking flowers all along the way. My bouquet steadily grew as I walked along. I stopped to pick whatever flower stood out to me. There was both a sense of urgency to head the down the path and a sense of ease that I could stop and harvest flowers along the way.

Immediately after the vision I was given two scriptures: Psalm 118 and Psalm 18. As I read the two Psalms specific verses jumped off the page!

Psalm 118:5-6 I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

Psalm 18:16-19, 28-30 He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, For they were too strong for me. 18 They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the Lord was my support. 19 He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me…  28 For You will light my lamp; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.29 For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall. 30 As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

I believe these two Psalms in their entirety are key for this Fall Feasts season of change we are about to experience and for the New Year. Most especially the references in both Psalms to a distressing time in contrast to a “broad place” are vitally important for understanding the new thing our amazing God is doing in the earth.

This is is what He spoke to me after the vision: What was held back from us during an intense time of preparation and training, is NOT going to be held back any longer!  Also, I know that I was both myself in this vision and a picture of the bride of Christ (dressed in white).  Looking at this from the perspective of the bride or body of Christ: Many have been waiting in the “Green Room”. This is a waiting room of preparation before an “on stage” appearance.  These who have yielded to the preparation will be the first ones picked up and placed in the middle of the brightly lit wide open field dotted with flowers ready to be harvested. The field is a NEW sphere of influence or NEW influence in our current sphere. The flowers are most certainly souls the Lord is preparing for each us to bless with His Gospel message and to “pick” for Him. The bouquet of redeemed souls is a lovely, fragrant gift for HIM.

The sun was bright and high at first like a Spotlight on His place for us  and toward the end of the vision it was low in the sky, meaning the time of the sun setting is close at hand. As Paul said, the Day is far spent and the night is at hand, in reference to the end of this season of Grace and the beginning of the remaking, cleansing and restoration of humankind and the renewal of the earth during the “last days.” Before the sun sets, there is a time of ease that will come upon the body of Christ. NOT EASY, but ease in our souls, freedom in our lives, boldness to share the gospel, love and power flowing through us to harvest the earth before the grand and glorious coming of Messiah Jesus!  All this despite what may be very dire circumstances all around us.

The good news is that our God is going to pick us up and place us in the middle of this broad place where we will prosper most in Him. We will be able to function there with grand success in Him no matter what the earth is experiencing. There is going to be no more season of wondering: Is this God or isn’t it! We will have completed our time of training and preparation and we will simply be placed by HIM, not our own doing, in the part of the board place we are ordain by HIM to walk and harvest.  We will hear His voice clearly. We will see what He is doing. We will know by Holy Spirit what to do and what not to do.

The training has been to prepare us for this new season, this beginning of a total sense of freedom and opportunity. EMBRACE the TRAINING you are in right now while you await the miracle of being transported to your “broad place.” It is designed to cause us all to lean fully on our God and not upon ourselves, others, or any government, method, ideas or things. Change is Good! This is a season of unprecedented transformation of the body of Christ into Demonstrators of Gods love and power.  Let Him change you so that you can go through this wide open door and run and twirl and harvest the flowers!

Beginning of Signs

watertowine

This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him. John 2:11

In a previous post the Lord spoke to my heart that He was ending some things right now, closing many doors, in preparation for a grand season of NEW.  (Read New Beginnings) This morning as I was asking the Lord what I needed to know in this season of endings and new beginnings, I felt directed to reread the first chapters of the Book of John.  As I read these favorite verses, suddenly they became as if I had never read them. The words became fresh and new, it fact alive.

In John Chapter 2 the story of Jesus turning water into wine simply overwhelmed me. It was like I was listening in on the conversation with Jesus and his Mother. I was visioning with the Lord.  In this type of vision I could see that the encounter was a tender exchange. Mary came to her son because she wanted to bless the bride and groom and the bride’s father, who was the host.  There was an intense sense that she completely trusted her son.  Also, that as His Mother, she knew him so well, and had observed Him and His capabilities for all His life, that she believed there was no one better suited than Jesus to bless the wedding and take care of the need.

His response was funny in the vision experience I was having. It was like He put his hands on his hips, cocked His head and with a grin said, “Gee Whiz Mom, I know you trust me to handle this, but I haven’t heard from my Father in Heaven on it.”  We know from scripture that He didn’t do anything unless He saw or heard it from His Father.  So, unless He did hear or see, it wasn’t going to happen. Mary knew that, because she knew Him so well. As I  continued to vision with the Lord, she smiles back at her son a knowing smile and then tells the servants to do whatever He says. After that she walks away. She appeared totally convinced He would do GOOD in this situation and would flow with blessing and provision.

On Jesus’ side, He could have done nothing at all. Or, sent the servants to a neighbor to see if they had any extra wine. Instead, He tells the servants to draw water. No doubt, He heard from His Father what to do! The blessing and provision did indeed flow.  He did GOOD.  In fact, verse 11 tells us it was the beginning sign, the first time Jesus’ glory was displayed. The result was His disciples believed in Him and Mary’s goal of blessing the wedding was accomplished.

Huge miracles happen in simple everyday situations in the word of God just as much as in crisis. Sometimes, I think we limit what God can do through us because we have circumstance  or situation expectations that block the simplicity of blessing others supernaturally. We don’t expect the supernatural intervention because we can go to the store and get what we need. Or, go to the doctor and get treatment.  On top of that, too often the relational trust and faith like Mary had is not present because we haven’t taken time to know the heart of God or person of Jesus. Action on our part can be slow or none existent because we haven’t developed spiritual hearing or sight; or we second guess what we do see and hear wondering if it really was God.

Nonetheless, the Lord is speaking to my heart that there are many beginnings of signs and manifestations of the glory of Jesus that are waiting on us. They are waiting for us to step into a God-attitude regarding their purpose. And, also a yieldedness must come so we know how, when, where and to whom the signs will be given.  The opportunities to flow with His loving power will come in the midst of doing life just as much as when there are crisis situations. Watch for signs when you are at a wedding, in the supermarket, walking down the street, on our way to work by bus, train, Lyft or Uber, at the dentist, or while visiting a friend or family member.  And, expect the the signs everywhere. They will come far more outside the church walls than inside!

This seems very urgent to me: We must immediately begin to refocus our thoughts about miracles to His thoughts and let go of preconceived notions as to what kind of places and when a sign or manifestation of God’s good blessings will occur. Holy Spirit can grab hold of our simple intent to be kind, to favor a family member (like Jesus favored His Mom) or to give joy to another human being. He can multiply our simple heart desire into a sign, a wonder, a miracle.

And, one more word on the beginning of signs in our lives: When the signs happen, it is NOT, 99.9% of the time, to launch us into a television ministry, send us on the road to do revival meetings or to make us famous. Keep this in mind and heart at all times; the signs are not about you or me!  They are given so that people believe in HIM.

May all of us grow up just a bit more, and find our place of humility bowing to His greatness and creativity, so that our God can begin to pour out the beginning of signs, I pray in Jesus’ mighty and wonderful Name!

With love and great JOY to you all,

Rev Cheryl

Wisdom Beginnings

The Beginning – Part 5 “Wisdom Beginnings” by Rev. Cheryl Birch

wisdom

This morning I woke up quoting this verse: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

This verse has been on my heart all morning and it is not abating.  I strongly believe it is a word that we must all grab onto in these tumultuous times in our nation and the world. It would be easy to launch out of my own heart on this one as there is so much evidence we, the body of Christ, are NOT walking in much wisdom these days.  However, my style when the Lord gives me a verse, especially one I wake up with, is to meditate on it for a time and find all the places in the word of God where something similar is said. That way I can get a clearer picture and more full understanding of what Holy Spirit is trying to tell me.

Here is what I found:

And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’” Job 28:28

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever. Psalm 111:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility. Proverbs 15:33

The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,   The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. Isaiah 11:2

These verses became personal as I allowed the words of the Lord to penetrate. They sent me a completely different direction.  Instead of looking outward at what is happening around me,  I realized I needed to ask Holy Spirit for these “Wisdom Beginnings” for ME.  Of course, the greater body of Christ needs wisdom too, but this time it was a message the Lord was giving me first. I needed the reminder. From that revelation came the heart of the message the Lord is asking me to share today. When we receive a word, or a scripture is highlighted by Holy Spirit, where do our thoughts on it go first? And, do we ever consider that where we are applying the scripture is not fully what the Lord is trying to tell us? It matters not in this question of the moment whether we tend to turn the scripture outward to the church, or the world, or inward to our own lives.  Very simply, whichever way we have applied the scripture, is that the fullness of what God is saying to us or have we missed it?

Scripture is a very powerful thing! The good news is no matter where we wholeheartedly apply it, there will be results. It will always create a new beginning.  Yes, every time you receive a scripture, grab it, and apply it something new is started! It is a seed that can grow, mature and bear fruit. However, when it was given to us or highlighted for a specific purpose and we miss that purpose, the magnificence of what Father God wanted us to experience with Him is delayed. A grand powerful new beginning, a launching into a new season, freedom from what has bound us or others, deep intercession for a city or region of the world, can be delayed and even missed.  Why? Because we are living in presumption and not living our lives in the fear of the Lord.

So, does that mean we are to be shaking in our boots before a punishing condemning God and not doing anything until we are totally sure or He will strike us with lightning? No, absolutely not! He is the author of grace and mercy. He is love itself. Instead, look at it this way: The fear of the Lord means we honor Him above all things, we love Him so much and want to be like Him so much that we take time to sit with Him, listen to Him, yield to Him, and that we desire only what He desires. It also means we take the time to ask Him to explain to us what His word means and where to apply it rather than assuming. There is no fear of the Lord in assumption and presuming. It is all driven by our own heart and thoughts and concerns.

What I needed personally was a reminder to take time and consider all applications of the scripture I woke up with this morning. I needed a personal wisdom beginning through honoring Him so that I could gain supernatural understanding through His counsel and might.  That led to turning away from the evil of assumption and presumption and toward God’s heart and mind and plans.  It is the sitting with the Lord for a time and asking Him to quicken His Word that makes the difference. Once we do that and express our willingness to do things His way, He WILL give us what we need!

Then as it says in Isaiah 33:6 “Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the Lord is His treasure.”  There is a treasure house of wisdom and knowledge available to us every day in every situation and it is found in the heavenly treasure chest marked “The Fear of the Lord.”  Each nugget found there can launch us into something gloriously new in Him and in our lives. When we become new, everything around us begins to change and reflects His goodness.

On another occasion I may be launched into immediate deep intercession for the body of Christ. But, today, my prayer is that the word of the Lord would change me, that I would honor Him more, and gain the wisdom and knowledge I need to represent Him well. And to obey Him by sharing my findings with all of you. Yes, Lord, give us all “wisdom beginnings” I pray, in Jesus Holy Name!

With much love and joy to you,

Rev Cheryl
