Stand as light in darkness

lighthouse

Yes! We are the light of the world as ambassadors of Christ Jesus!

As the earth spirals into spiritual darkness our job to be that light is more important than ever! All the more we need to gather together and pray. All the more we need to bless, bless, bless and bless some more and learn how to stand strong in the midst of adversity. Jesus described in Matthew and Luke what it would be like in the world at His return. He said it would be as the days of Noah. In Genesis 7:11 it says “Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence” – that was the kind of culture Noah lived in. That is the kind of world culture we live in. Noah stood for righteousness and listened to God in his day and we must, and we can, do the same in our day. In fact, we have advantage! We have Jesus and we are filled with His Spirit. So, let’s not faint, give up or give in! Let’s learn how to stand as light in the darkness!

If you are in the Modesto area, join us for our new class “BE STRONG!” Friday night July 22nd – Days Inn Modesto at 7 PM.

Transfiguration: a Vision for the Decade

submission

In September of 2014 I had a vision of what looked like a body with its head on backwards. Upon close observation in the vision I could see it was actually a head with its body on backwards… This intensely unusual scene revealed the condition of the body of Christ and Lord’s plan to totally transform His people by the end of this decade. This year He continued to reveal His victorious message of hope contained in the vision. Listen to the prophetic message released on September 25, 2015 by clicking here.

A Season to Draw Close, Fast and Pray!!!

Praying-on-the-Mountain-cropped1-150x150

Beloved Intercessors,
No matter where you live in the world, I believe it is vital that we start a fast and right away! It is a season to draw as close to the Lord as we possibly can.

I have been hearing about a need to fast coming from many different camps this past week and had planned to fast later in the month with another group – I will still do that. However, the ongoing assault against the intercessors and ministries on the front-line, not only in our area but everywhere, (from loss of loved ones, to sudden illnesses, to loss of income, to car accidents and on and on) is not abating with prayer alone. Then I must add to that the call to fast by the Lord this past Friday when I was praying for one of the mighty men of God in our city, to me Equals = we need to ramp up our prayers for break-through by adding some good old fashion denying of flesh. That is best done through a fast and I know it cannot wait!!!

The goal of the fast is to get closer to God, listen to Him, seek Him for Him, let the needs be known and allow Him to break down our selfish ways, and ultimately to defeat the enemy. Respond in declarations and proclamations as He reveals things, otherwise simply let Him arise and scatter the enemy as you draw closer and closer to Him.

Since this is quite sudden, which is designed I am sure to take the enemy by surprise, I am asking you join in the fast as best you can as soon as you read this.

Those of you that have fasted with us before know that I leave it to you how deep you wish or need to go into the fast. This season of fasting is immediate through the end of the month. We will fast until Saturday 9-12-15 take a short break and fast 9-17-15 to 9-21-15. I will post any additional dates.

While “fasting” television and electronic diversion is good during this time, it is not what the Lord is calling for. We are doing a food fast. Instead of spending time prepping food and eating, spend time praying and seeking to draw close to God.

Here are ways to fast for various folks that find fasting a physical challenge:
1. If you are taking medications that require food or are under a doctor’s care – please choose “giving up treats” as your fast to the Lord. For example: If you love your cup of coffee in the morning, give that up during this time or anything else that you will greatly miss, but will not affect your meds or health.

2. If you are working and need some energy during the day, a Daniel fast would be recommended or fasting a meal each day.

3. If you must have protein or you become ill, then give up carbs and sugary treats during the fast.

For everyone else choose any combination of fasting for the 7 day period. You can choose to do one thing all the days or a different type of fast each day. You and the Lord need to decided what He is asking of you.

Here are some ways to fast:
1. Daniel Fast: primarily veggies of all kinds, mush (like oatmeal), lentils, beans,
and fruit or nuts in small amounts
2. Juice and broth fast (no solid food, only liquids)
3. Eat only one meal a day – water, juice or broth the other meals
4. Give up one meal a day – eat very simple small meals the other 2 times
5. No food, water only (again, if you are not healthy enough to do this even one day,
choose another fast)

The enemy has to let go of what belongs to the Lord and thereby belongs to us! I see this fast working like a crowbar and prying the enemy’s grubby fingers off of everything he has grabbed. All glory to God because He is the one that will accomplish the victory as we turn to HIM!

Thank you for joining in whether it is one day or the entire season of fasting.
With love and joy to you
Remember to pray for each other!!!

Transition to Glory

Ancient Gate from dark to light

If ever there was a time to pray in all of history, it is NOW!

The spiritual SHIFT of the ages is upon us! The Lord is opening His ancient door and we are in passage to something wonderful in this remarkable season! As we move into the Feast of Trumpets, the Days of Awe and Yom Kippur – we can expect this huge shifting in the times and timing of the Father’s plans to impact the earth. He has been speaking to me for months now that we are in a Transition time to “full glory.” Things are happening all around us that are paving the way to culmination of this dispensation and the birthing of a whole new heaven and earth.

Those whom He is preparing in the body are about to become humble selfless Demonstrators of His NEW! Like a preview of what is to come, thousands of God’s anointed ones will move in concert to glorify Him in power.

Our journey through this Shift to the opening of His ancient doors to living with Him in Glory needs an abundance of prayer. We are dedicated to that prayer! We will be meeting this month on our usual 2nd Friday and that happens to be 9-11. This is not coincidence!

I believe the Lord is calling all who will hear to a season of more than ever intense intercession. And the call is LOUD and URGENT! When change of this magnitude is on the horizon, we must be in prayer so that we stay in one accord with His perfect plan, His word, and with each other.

Listen and you will hear the Trumpet Call to Prayer!

If you are in the Modesto CA area, join us at the Days Inn Modesto on Friday 9-11-15 at 7 Pm in room 105

Blessing you to stand strong in the Lord and the Power of HIS Might!

Pray Like Never Before

PrayUSA

On June 26th, a day of great change for our nation, the Lord spoke these three phrases to me: ‎Pray Like Never Before‬; the‎ USA Has Destiny In Christ Jesus;‬ ‪‎Arise Church‬!

Then He gave me this message:
If ever there was a time to pray Church, it is now. Hatefulness, name calling, and vengeful attitudes will do nothing to change the hearts of people or the spiritual atmosphere of our nation. If you are angry allow the Holy Spirit to turn it into a Holy Fire of intercession. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the evil, overcome it by releasing good through praying scripture. If you are fearful, choose to trust God, (yes you can choose to trust and not be afraid) and pray in faith with His vision for the destiny of our nation.

God is not through with the USA. He is helping us, the church, to awaken and arise in Him. Our years of lack of prayer and little to no unity among the churches got us here. My firm belief is that the answer is in the mouth and actions of the body of Christ. Fervent faith-filled prayer, declarations, intercession and endeavoring to love one another as Christ has loved us will begin the process of change. Setting aside differences, embracing our sameness in Christ, becoming ONE as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are ONE (John 17) will turn the nation back to God because we, the church, have turned to Him as our only source and hope.

Our job is not to curse those who are bound in sin, but to soul by soul share the Gospel, the good news that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe on Him would have eternal life (John 3:16). It is time to come out of the shelter of our church walls like never before in history and love on people as Jesus has loved on us. Be His healing hands, His loving eyes, and His voice of truth! We are the place where heaven meets earth and our greatest hour is upon us, if we will do it His way!

Pillars of Hope

Cg C150604-B-051 v1cvzs0 pm bkfast ______ modesto CA =

Many people asked me if the prayer focus I shared at the 3rd Annual Pray Modesto Prayer Breakfast was recorded. Since it was a prayer meeting, it was not. However, I have gone over my notes and asked the Holy Spirit to help me to reconstruct the message. The written version of “Pillars of Hope: Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health” is posted here. While the Father spoke this over the city of Modesto California on June 4, 2015, I believe the principles in the message apply no matter where we live. May His word to our beloved city bless you whether you live in the greater Modesto area or anywhere in the world!

Pillars of Hope: Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health
By Rev Cheryl Birch

Back in 1911 there was a contest to choose a motto for Modesto.  Whichever slogan won the contest, those words would be placed upon a brand new entrance arch to greet all visitors.

The slogan that won that contest was “Nobody’s got Modesto’s Goat” –

Thankfully, the Modesto Businessmen’s Association made an excellent decision to put the second place winner on our arch.  In 1912, Water Wealth Contentment Health lit up 9th and I Streets for the first time using 696 incandescent light bulbs.

Cg C150604-B-057 v2czs pm bkfast ______ modesto CA =

As I was praying in preparation for this morning, I could see those words – Water Wealth Contentment Health – glowing in the dark. They began to radiate with glory.

In them I could see that the Lord Jesus intended blessing for our city. He had something far more wonderful than “Nobody’s got Modesto’s goat”… I believe He turned the hearts of the decision makers in 1911 toward His promises for this city.

When these 4 words were first proclaimed, they described Modesto in the natural or physical realms.  This area was golden with wheat that brought great wealth, there     was lots of water to grow that wheat and other produce with two rivers flowing, and later because of irrigation.

People were by and large content with life here. All cities have some problems, but Modesto, in the early 1900s, was known for excellence in education, music, entertain-ment and the beautiful rose gardens. The people were healthy because of all the wonderful foods, fruits and vegetables available year round.

Over the years, and most recently, it is obvious these 4 promises have come under severe attack.

We look around and we have challenges: drought and water battles, unemployment and poverty with resulting discontentment and on top of that poor air quality and a challengingly dismal health record.  We seem to be on the bottom of everyone’s good list and the top of everyone’s bad list. And, according to the powers that be, the best we do is the middle of the pack.

What I say to that is Baloney! Yes, Baloney! Modesto is not all that, it is a blessed city!

The Lord spoke to my heart many years ago now to look again with supernatural or spiritual eyes at our city.  When I looked again with spiritual eyes at our Arch, I could see He gave us a Gift — A Gift of Four Pillars of Hope

Hope, He wished to bestow upon the residents back then and Hope for all future citizens of Modesto.  Words to rejoice over during good times, and to stand upon during difficult times.

The word of God is rich with scriptures to define these promises of HOPE.  In fact,  there are too many verses to share in this short time so, I chose key scriptures that stood out to me for each one:

The Promise of Water – A symbol of the Holy Spirit and God’s word – John 7:37-39 37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

The Promise of Wealth – symbol of Godly treasures, treasures of heaven, and treasures of the heart Colossians 2:2-3  that their (that our) hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

The Promise of Contentment – symbol of resting in the Lord, of the fullness of trusting in Christ Jesus no matter what is going on around us … Philippians 4 entire chapter, especially verses 11-13 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ[b] who strengthens me.

The Promise of Health – Symbol of Christ Jesus healing our heart, mind and body Isaiah 53:5 (Repeated in 1 Peter 2) But He (Jesus) was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

The very gates of our city have been and are being assailed by our spiritual enemy twisting and turning the wonderful message found in these 4 words. BUT, City of Modesto, we possess these promises, they supersede our natural circumstances and we can contend together for those promises!

We can stand together and we can Hope again! We can Pray together and unify in faith on God’s promises. We can proclaim together, knowing the Biblical message of Water Wealth Contentment Health defines God’s plans for us! We can come into agreement with the Father’s vision and destiny for our city and see the fulfillment of these spiritual promises also begin to transform our natural atmosphere as He transforms hearts.

As we seek first His righteousness, then all the things we need will be added to us. There is equity in our God but we need to ask.

This is where we are: The very identity and future of Modesto rests in the hearts and mouths of the believers and her citizens.  What we say about ourselves and our city is contagious whether positive or negative.

In this world everyone is trying to make us into their image of who and how and what they think we should be. When we accept that and allow others to tell us who we are; we lose our God given identity.  What we must hang on to at all times, no matter the pressure from others or the demonic spiritual pressures, is that our identity is found in Christ Jesus alone. As we embrace Him more and more fully, who we are in Him is revealed and it becomes evident to all.

The same is true for our collective selves as a city.  Modesto’s identity is to be found in Christ Jesus alone. It is time we stepped away from old paradigms of expression, old mindsets about who we are, and stop allowing others to mold Modesto’s image.  Instead let’s look at who we are individually and collectively in Christ and Christ alone! In Him all things old have passed away and behold all things have become NEW!

Jesus Himself said in Luke 6:44-46 (NKJV)
44 For every tree is known by its own fruit…. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Modesto is suffering from low self- esteem not only because others have spoken badly about her, but because so much discouragement has been flowing out of the hearts and the mouths of her residents.

Let’s break the cycle! Let’s become Champions for Modesto and speak according to the Father’s vision for us.  I see a thriving Modesto flowing in an abundance of the good things of God as we give utterance to our promises.

Let’s take a moment of personal reflection, and repentance if needed, before we pray together…and, ask our Father in heaven to give us His eyes to see the city and His love for this place we live. Let’s truly unify in prayer believing, for there is power in faith agreement, and ask God to release His purposes and His excellence in our midst. Not for our sakes but for the sakes of the multitude of souls waiting in the valley of decision.

Our prayers are more effective than we think they are – They are part of the ministry of reconciliation.  Our words and requests help pave the way to restoring the people of this city to Harmony with God. To restoration of His grace, favor and provision!

We could pray this morning from the point of view that Modesto has problems that are getting our goat… or we can pray from God’s point of view…

We have a divinely appointed and heavenly orchestrated opportunity to bless Modesto in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ this morning. Not one of you is here by accident. What each of you prays will lift up this city to the throne of grace and our Father in heaven will hear and will respond to YOUR prayers.

Let’s ask Him to fulfill in our day, in our lifetime, His promises of Water Wealth Contentment Health…

Everyone, can we say together: Water Wealth Contentment Health?

Yes Father – Water Wealth Contentment Health in Jesus Name we pray! AMEN!

2015 – The Year of Answered Prayer

happy-new-year-2015-wood

As we enter 2015 the Lord is speaking to me how important it is that we keep our feet firmly planted in His word, a strong foundation, and our eyes fixed constantly upon Him with our spiritual ears open to hear His voice. The things He is about to do in the world will look mighty strange to us- What He is about to ask of us will feel mighty unusual to us – the reaction of our already defeated enemy will be frightening to us – IF we are not fixated on Christ Jesus. We must have compassion on the world’s difficulties, but see through His eyes and KNOW His love for us, KNOW His blood covers us and KNOW His peace that surpasses all understanding. Don’t get caught in sorrows. He is our JOY, our provider and our protector! This is a year for us to shine for Him like never has there been opportunity before! We are to be His translators and His Ambassadors in a powerful NEW, all NEW, way! We are about to see the answers to years and years of prayers! Not only our prayers, but those of the saints gone on before us! Be ready to translate what you see and hear in the Spirit to speak to the hurting and change hearts in the earth. Prepare now in His presence to be His Ambassador wherever you go, not just sometimes, but always, in every place. There is an intercessory flow pouring out of heaven. A new wind of refreshing for those of us in the trenches AND thousands of new recruits about to join us and lift the load!!!! We have held the line and never given up and the Lord is about to start an advance – we are about to climb to new places. Shake off all past disappointment, stop wondering if you are in the right place in God’s Kingdom, and step into trust, great faith and more understanding and wisdom. Pray, intercessors, Pray with confidence. This is the year of answered prayer!

Believe Big – Pray Big

Believe Big, Pray Big
Released by Rev Cheryl Birch
at the Pray Modesto Prayer Breakfast
June 5, 2014

This morning we have a unique opportunity to seize this moment in time and touch the very heart of God.

From 1915 to about 1920 Spokane Washington became the healthiest city in the USA; even during the 1918 flu epidemic that killed thousands, they had remarkable health and wellbeing as God poured out healing upon the people.

In 1948, in a place called Lewis, the New Hebrides Islands experienced the start of a 30 year long move of God that transformed the island communities from one of high crime, moral decline, poverty and complacency into a place of salvation, healing, and prosperity.

In the 1990’s a move of God swept through parts of Colombia, South America and areas of Central America that unified the church, transformed drug cartel leaders, and changed the very atmosphere of the regions from impoverished oppressed and fearful to places that rapidly grew in the Lord and are still home to thriving churches.

In 2004 a town called Manchester in Kentucky experienced a move of God that changed them from a dying town held captive by drug dealers and crime – to a thriving community. They were overshadowed by death. Everyone in the state called them the “illegal drug capitol of Kentucky” – the Lord changed them to “the city of Hope”- lives miraculously transformed; even the land and water polluted by drug chemicals were amazingly restored

We see the mighty move of God suddenly come upon these places in the world and we say Wow, it’s a wonder and a miracle… truly it is, but every one of these places and all the amazing awakening and transformation stories over the centuries, including the ones recorded in the word of God, all have something in common.

There was a group of people desperate for God, who humbled themselves before Him, believed big, prayed big in Jesus name and never ever gave up on His promises. It took time, often years, but then suddenly God answered and seemingly overnight everything changed for good.

There is something spectacular that happens all around us when we humble ourselves before God, believe His word, invite His presence, honor one another and pray with faith… There is an unseen impact of our prayers that unites us supernaturally and moves the heart of Father God to bless and transform first us and then our city for His good purpose.

The good news, the really wonderful news, is our God wants this city to thrive in HIM, not barely survive. He wants to pour out answers to every prayer.

We need to get desperate – or, as it says in the Book of James: “ it is the effectual FERVENT prayers of the righteous that avail much” – so, the Lord is encouraging us to be fervent, to dream big because Jesus has opened heaven to us – to become co-conspirators with the Holy Spirit; to conspire with Him for His Kingdom to come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. To be influencers in every sphere of our city – a people who Pray big – that ask the impossible of a loving Father who is waiting to pour down good gifts.

When we gather we can become ONE voice, with ONE purpose, united in Christ Jesus, to bless the souls in this city to prosper in all good things.

The other component that is vital is to not lose heart, to not ever give up – can’t pray very fervently when we have given up.

Jesus said in Luke 18:1 that people always ought to pray and not lose heart,

Lose heart = Ekkakeo (ek ah kay oh) which means to be utterly spiritless, to be wearied out, exhausted

Also used in Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

If you have felt weary, spiritless and exhausted – it is time to rise up out of that! It is time to get desperate, fervent, in your prayers. Or as Winston Churchill said “Never, Never, Never give up” –

Let’s approach our time of prayer with a heart full of forgiveness and love toward one another, esteeming one another more than ourselves… Let’s pray with Now Faith, the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Today let us repent and humble ourselves, join in what God is doing and go where He is going.

Let’s believe Big, pray Big!

That Modesto may be declared an Isaiah 62 City – A city that glorifies the Lord, a city that is called delightful, a city over which God rejoices, a city where business and commerce flourishes, a city where our sons and daughters prosper, a city that is a praise in the earth, a city no longer called desolate, a city filled with a holy people, a city called Sought Out, a city Not Forsaken.

Our God is for us, Modesto! In Jesus mighty name who can be against us?

Pray knowing that with our God nothing, absolutely nothing, is impossible!

LET’S PRAY!

Hold the Line!

There has been an increase in physical challenge and problems of all kinds for the praying church in the last few days. The whirlwind of distractions of the enemy have hit and we are speaking peace and healing to every storm. A week ago the Lord spoke to me clearly that we intercessors must remember to pray for each other as the spiritual warfare increases. This we have done with much sense of breakthrough and blessing. Still, I have been feeling very unsettled, so I asked Him what was going on and what He would have us do.

unity

Heard this about midnight last night from Him: “HOLD THE LINE! Take a new grip, breathe a new breath, stand firm. There is an assault trying to get the praying church to give-up through illness and infirmity, to be distracted by a variety of challenges and problems, or to collapse under pressures of oppression. When you have done all you are to stand!!! Stand on the peace of the gospel, holding on to faith and My word, remembering your salvation and declaring righteousness and truth. Hold the line intercessors and never, never, never give up.” Ephesians 6:13-18 & Galatians 6:9

So, we will hold the line simply by not giving up on our hope in Him. We are being directed to stand and we can do it through the strength of the Lord. He is keeping us, preserving us, uplifting us, defending us, and healing us. Praise God we have persevered in Him thus far and we will make it to full victory. We will see His marvels and goodness pour out to our cities, states and the nation!

We are about to break through and the enemy is thrashing – he is a loser and defeated foe. The Blood of Jesus Prevails!

The Wave

surfer-huge wave

Something washed over me while I was in prayer. I was in simple dialog with the Lord about life’s issues and things that have gone crazy in the world. Then I saw it… a huge wave. It was far out to sea. The beach was void of water for a long way and much of it was very dry and sun baked. The walk to the water was a long one… but, I had my surf board and I was making the trek… I knew when I got to the water I was gonna ride that wave.

There is a decided call to prayer being declared in the heavenlies over the USA and strategic places in the world like Egypt, Syria and North Korea. We have always had a call to prayer as the body of Christ. Think about it, He, Jesus, is the Head, and we are His body. He is at the right hand of the Father ever making intercession for us. That means His body is suppose to be constantly making intercession too. Throughout history there has been ebbs and flows in response to that call. What I am sensing is a TIDAL WAVE flow of prayer. I am seeing in the Spirit that the body of Christ will begin to pray to its pinky toes as they hear God and heed the call to intercession. The wave is mounting and I want to be at the churning crest of that wave – It is a wave of selfless heart felt prayer and it is about to crash ashore in a great awakening and revival.

Sssshhh… quiet your mind and be still for a moment…Listen!

You will hear the sound of the Shofars (trumpets), you will hear a voice like the roar of many waters, calling us to our prayer closets, calling us to prayer gatherings, calling us to new heights of prayerful symphony with the Holy Spirit and His Holy Angels – winning righteous judgments in the courts of Heaven. Grab your surf board and begin the walk to the water, then start pray paddling out to the deep waters – this wave isn’t a snapper (little wave) or even a beach break, it’s an off the hook HEAVY WAVE, a BOMB, as big as they get! And it has a long swell – it’s going to be quite the ride!
