the Green Room

Cave Green room 2

For quite some time I have been seeing the number 4 everywhere, usually 444. In my New Year letter to you I shared an article on that which can be read on this Blog. The fours have been so persistent, as I follow the Lord’s instruction to claim the promises of 4, that I have taken much time to sit with the Him and learn more about this message to us. What struck me was Green is the 4th color of the covenant rainbow God set before Noah. It is the color of the bow that is over the Throne of God. And, it is the color of change and renewal, as well as, a symbol of Spring and new life. It is also, I am hearing in my times with Him, a message to us that we are in a season of tremendous growth. This green growing season is most specifically for those who will or are seeking Him above all else.
He tells me there are hundreds, more likely thousands, of disciples of Christ Jesus who are right now in His “Green Room.” It is a place of waiting, of precision preparation and of such intense growth into His likeness that it aches and even hurts in the deepest places of our souls. This is a place of personal isolation, yet we are not really isolated. Life goes on around us and we are interacting and productive, but we are also separated out for a specific season with Him. It is hard to describe this place. It is doing daily tasks, attending church, or prayer group, interacting with others, but feeling out of sync with it all as Father God calls to us to cling to Him. Some in the Green Room are wondering if they have “lost it” as their life has so radically changed. What worked in the past, is not working now.
Past ways are not working because we are in a waiting room just this side of brand new – but, the good news is that even God’s waiting rooms are lush and green and full of life.  I saw this place as an emerald cave-like room. It has no furniture. As I entered the room I felt alone. But, then I realized He was there. He was everywhere. It was empty of worldly things on purpose. There was nothing in the room to distract me from Him. As I looked around the room sensing His presence suddenly stairs lit up; Beautiful Golden Stairs that led to a chamber where there was a white table with chairs. A young man in a white tunic sat at the head of the table and many others like me sat at the table. There was an empty chair for me and I sat down. Jesus, the young man, spoke with us there about life, His love, and His plans.
Yes, it is a room of separation and God Himself has called us to this chamber. In many ways it is a lonely place as the distractions of our lives, ministry, work, and achievements are stripped away. It is also a vitally necessary place. Once in the Green Room as we wait on Him we are privileged to find out how independent of Him we have really been; how much we have relied on ourselves and asked Him to bless what we have done.  It is also a lush place of rest. True rest in the Lord is rare, but those in the Green Room are learning to truly rest; to fearlessly trust their God and King.
Some are being called out to make surprising life changes. In many cases God has inspired this group to move to a new city where they know few or no one in order to get them to center their attention on Him alone. Others are being called to leave behind long time ministries as the doors close on that season and He prepares them for the new doors opening. Still others are being asked to give up some things very dear to them that are no longer needed for the season we have entered.  It can be a confusing time as the old is closed and the new is established. That is why this message is vital.
He says stay in the Green Room until it is time… This is important. Just as the green room in our culture is the place that people wait and do their last minute preparations just before they go on stage at the appointed time, His Green room is our last minute preparation before we go on His stage at His appointed time.   Yes, those of us in preparation right now are about to be revealed as sons and daughters of God; as Ambassadors of Christ who are Demonstrators of His Love, Power and Word.  A Spotlight will be upon those humble servants who persevere and are relentless in their pursuit of Him. They will not put themselves in the limelight. God Himself will shine His light upon and through them.
Be most blessed and full of HOPE & JOY!
